The team was commissioned to create an opulent hotel particulier from four adjoining Grade 1 listed terrace houses overlooking St James’s Park, the oldest of the Royal Parks in London.

This project – which is considered to be the second largest restoration project in London after St Pancras Station – was an immense and stimulating undertaking on every level, and a satisfying way to draw on Joanna Wood’s 25 years of training and experience.

The project encompassed the restoration and refurbishment of 94 lavishly decorated rooms, which included 16 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms or cloakrooms. The evolution of the interior called for 36 chandeliers, 27 lanterns, 2,662 metres of bespoke curtain lining and 372 bespoke cushions.
