Designing the five bedroom 6000 sq. ft. penthouse apartment in the Sloane building was a real challenge to create homely living spaces out of the extraordinary vast spaces of an Edwardian school.
These included glazed brick stairwells with split level bathrooms with marble stairs leading to a copper bathtub. In the voluminous double height entrance hall we transformed it with a Tracey Emin neon artwork, ‘If music be the food of love’ , a grand piano and a fluttering gold mobile art work by Christel Sadde over the stairs.
We created an entertainment and living areas in the vast space with its mix of high and low ceilings, with seating areas divided by a large curved sofa, a snug with a fireplace wall, separate cinema room and dining area to one side.
The overall effect is of a glamourous contemporary lifestyle suited to 21st city living
